In order for us to have eternal life, we must place our faith in Jesus Christ. We are not able to
earn salvation by our own efforts or by good deeds. The penalty for our sin is death (separation from God)
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 6:23
However, God demonstrated His love for us by coming to the earth in the person of Jesus Christ to die in
our place for all of our sins. (Romans 5:8) By placing our faith in Christ alone as the Lord who died and rose
again, we receive the gift of eternal life. John 5:13
All we have to do is ask. 13 For “whoever calls on
the name of the LORD shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13) Speaking about Jesus, Peter said..."Nor is there salvation
in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12b
If you would like to invite Jesus as your Savior, you could pray a prayer such as this...
Father, I want Jesus to be my Savior. I recognize that I am a sinner, but I believe that
Jesus came and died on the cross for my sins. Thank you for promising everlasting life to all who would call on His
name.
